This beautiful female Snowy Owl was found outside Edmonton, Alberta in February 2001. I had the pleasure of helping to band this individual. She was every bit as wonderfully soft as she looks. She was also very powerful and muscular, unlike any other owl I have ever held. With big razor sharp talons (claws) the Snowy Owl is the most massive owl in North America. As beautiful and soft as she was, it was very clear that this owl could really hurt you if you were not careful!
