Norman found this pair of Barn Owls in a barn silo on a private Amish farm near Berlin, Ohio in July 2002. Since he had climbed up to the roof and was taking these photos through a partially open door, i.e. the one they used for an entrance, there was no escape and they took a classic defensive posture of dropping their heads and swaying back and forth with their wings extended. Great photo, it appears as though these two had been found before since both were wearing bands. |
